"And no matter what, Americans will never rescind their support for Israel."

I'm sick of our support of Israel, and MANY Americans agree with me. It made some sense to have them as a client during the Cold War to counter-balance the Soviet Arab clients, but it makes no sense NOW. It's a vestigial policy, preserved from habit and the continuous pressure from the Israel Lobby, that has it's tenacles all through our government, think tanks and media. It's much like our Cuba policy - it's been obsolete for YEARS.

Supporting Israel works against the national interest of the United States. Israel has nukes, and is perfectly capable of defending itself. If we used our leverage to FORCE Israel to get back behind the green line, return all illegal settlements and leave the Pals to develop a state, the Arabs opinion of us would change dramatically.

re: So to leave Iraq in its current state of sectarian violence would be a huge risk to the security and interests of America. We'll basically allow the formation of another pre-9/11 Afghanistan, and that's unacceptable in my mind.

I remember a year or two back I said the Middle East was less stable because of the invasion and almost got drowned in the LOLs for the righties on the thread.

Now we've got to stay because it is unstable with absolutely no consideration to the fact that our presence is making it less stable.

LOLOLOLOLOL (Not!).

Do you think INTC will ever put AMD out of business?
