"CNBC only reporting the downgrade, not the upgrades. Also, reporting forward looking guidance was lower than expected without mentioning that this is always the case with Apple.

Someone on another board had a theory about how options expiry would be acting as a big downward force. Seemed logical enough. Always intrigued by those mysterious, unexplainable forces."

Yup, that sure seemed like the scenario being setup yesterday.

Not so mysterious, take a look at the "max pain" theory- the point where the most options expire at no value, one site is ez-pnf.com
