Thanks for the excellent & useful summary. I expect there will be very little publicity on the "Government contract writers screwed up" angle but more political posturing.

The elephant in the room, or rather not in the room, is many rigs have left the GOM because of Hurricane risk and opportunities elsewhere. This means the GOM production will continue to decline. More pressure towards $100 bbl.
