No one is talking about well above the market rate. The market rate is higher if supply is lower and demand is higher. I'm talking about charing the market rate rather than a sub market rate.

Even at the below market rate that you want charged, goods will move, but if you can charge a high rate, and make a high profit there is more incentive to go through the extra cost and difficulty and risk to get them there faster.

Something like a more efficient FEMA, combined with private charity, can perhaps handle most of the immediate life and death concerns, but people want a lot more than just immediate life and death items. And in any case a higher profit will in some cases get even those items in faster then even the best FEMA like organization.
