I don't picture leftist extremists as being analogous to people disputing a flat earth belief. "folks who disagree with"..."the Zionists are routinely castigated" Any contention that the Jewish people have not established a State and a homeland (which they are entitled to defend) is bound to meet with some resistance in any western country. After all, they are critical allies and buttress a commonality of interest and purpose as relates to enemies of those human rights and freedoms which epitomize western culture. Anyone from the west challenging the right of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland and to their independence is bound to meet with some populist anger. Again, the right of the Jewish people to defend Israel is not analogous to a belief in a flat earth as your innuendo suggests.
