Are you insulting the Iraqis now? Because that is exactly what the vast majority of them (Shia and Sunni) feel - that the US invasion is a naked land-grab of their country.

YASNL (Yet Another Shameless Neocon Liar):

New York Post columnist Ralph Peters (November 2005) : ... [Our] failure to see the mission through to completion would tell the world that “Americans are cowards who can be attacked with impunity.... a U.S. surrender would turn al Qaeda into an Islamic superpower. If we run away from our enemies overseas, our enemies will make their way to us. Quit Iraq, and far more than 2,000 Americans are going to die.”

Ralph Peters (Nov. 2, 2006) : “Iraq is failing. No honest observer can conclude otherwise. If they continue to revel in fratricidal slaughter, we must leave. ... Contrary to the prophets of doom (i.e. the Nov. 2005 version of... Ralph Peters!), the United States wouldn’t be weakened by our withdrawal, should it come to that.”
