Wasn't much of an hurricane by any - or in particular your - standards. The total death toll in Germany 5 persons out of the 90 million population. Just 15 people succumbed to this "hurricane" in all Europe and that includes fishermen on duty.

This kind of heavy winds we experience quite often close to the Alps. What's more unique, however: All of Europe was hit by heavy winds at about the same time. Quite warm here right now at 60F.
