The question was : "Do you personally want the Iraq plan President Bush announced last week to succeed?"

It had nothing to do with whether the respondent thought it would fail or was likely to fail.

I suspect the question was understood by the respondents.
If not, the respondents have difficulty with reading comprehension.


Yeah, well if someone thinks Bush' surge plan is a stupid, ineffective plan (as most Dems, Reps and independents do) it's not very sensible to ask them "Do you want a plan which you think is stupid to succeed?". That's my point. They think it will fail.

I think its a poorly worded question if the goal is to find out what the respondent wants to have happen in Iraq.
