Olevia(TM) and Vivitar to be Featured at High-Profile Outlets and Venues Including ESPN, Super Bowl XLI, Sundance, MTV and The Dwell Homes by Empyrean

TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2007--Riding record-breaking holiday sales, Syntax-Brillian (NASDAQ:BRLC) will begin showcasing a range of new lifestyle, entertainment and sports marketing programs for its flagship Olevia(TM) HDTV and Vivitar digital camera brands at CES 2007.

In early 2007, Olevia(TM) and Vivitar will participate in a wide range of new marketing initiatives with diverse lifestyle and entertainment-focused outlets, brands and events, including CES, Super Bowl XLI, the Sundance Film Festival and The Dwell Homes by Empyrean. Olevia(TM) will also continue to expand its successful relationships with sports entertainment icons ESPN and ABC Sports.

These moves signal a commitment toward tapping into changing consumer attitudes about HDTVs, according to Syntax-Brillian's Chief Marketing Officer, Hope Frank.

"HDTVs are now a mainstream purchase and, for many consumers, an expression of individual lifestyle," according to Ms. Frank. "Through our marketing partnerships with ESPN, MTV, Sundance and Dwell, we're able to demonstrate to consumers that Olevia is a smart choice - whether focused on excellence in technology and performance or elegance in design."

Olevia Oasis Booth at CES

At CES 2007, Syntax-Brillian will demonstrate its vision of today's HDTV lifestyle with 24 state-of-the-art Olevia HDTVs in its Olevia Oasis booth, including the company's innovative Olevia 7 Series 742i and 747i 1080p LCD HDTVs - the first HDTVs featuring the SiliconOptix Realta Hollywood Quality Video (HQV(TM)) video processor powered by Teranex technology.

The Olevia(TM) Oasis booth (LVCC South Hall, lower level, booth #20419), offers CES attendees a refreshing break with professional, seated AVEDA neck and shoulder massages, as well as an opportunity to win a relaxing Amadeus Spa getaway in Waipouli, Hawaii.

ESPN, Sundance and Super Bowl

Additionally at CES 2007, Olevia(TM) LCD TVs will be featured exclusively at ESPN's CES stage, located in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Olevia(TM) continues to be the exclusive sponsor of ESPN's college basketball 'Full Court' pay-per-view package and maintains an ongoing sponsorship of ESPN HD programming as well as advertising across ESPN print, radio, online and television media.

Olevia(TM) will expand its relationship with ESPN in 2007. Olevia(TM) 7 Series LCD HDTVs will be featured in ESPN's first-ever venue at the Sundance Film Festival, 'The Game', where entertainers, sports fans and VIPS will be able to enjoy sporting events as a weekend kick-off to the film festival. Olevia(TM) will also be an official sponsor of ESPN at Super Bowl XLI in Miami, Florida with on-site advertising, Olevia(TM) LCD TVs and radio advertising throughout ESPN's Super Bowl coverage.

The ongoing association with ESPN has resulted in robust increases in Olevia(TM) brand awareness. According to New York-based research firm Gfk NOP's OmniTel survey, overall awareness of the Olevia(TM) brand rose 164% among adults age 18+ for the period of September 1, 2006 through December 2006. Significantly, Olevia(TM) brand awareness rose 174% during this period among its key demographic of males age 18 to 34.

"In a variety of sports and entertainment settings, including CES, Sundance and the Super Bowl, ESPN is pleased to continue its association with Olevia in 2007," said Bryan Burns, vice president, Strategic Business Planning and Development, ESPN. "As HD programming and HDTV becomes increasingly mainstream, we're confident that Olevia will continue successfully showcasing all that the technology and ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD have to offer for viewers."

In addition to featuring Olevia(TM) with ESPN at Sundance, Syntax-Brillian will also introduce its Vivitar brand of digital cameras to the entertainment elite by distributing 50 of Vivitar's latest, cutting-edge VivCam X 60 10.1 megapixel digital cameras at the Gibson Guitar - Getty Images hospitality lodge. This venue will serve as headquarters to Entertainment Tonight's coverage of Sundance as well as Getty Images' photography operations and will feature an exclusive Gibson Guitar celebrity jam session.

The Dwell Homes by Empyrean and other Media

Rounding out Olevia(TM)'s upcoming lifestyle-focused marketing initiatives is an appearance in MTV's popular automotive makeover show, "Pimp My Ride", where an Olevia(TM) LCD TV is custom-built into a van. Olevia(TM) also has a high-profile role as a Master Partner for HDTV products in The Dwell Homes(TM) by Empyrean, a collection of custom-designed, modern prefabricated homes. Olevia(TM) HDTVs will be prominently featured in the exclusive debut of the first Dwell Model Home as well as in advertising and promotions in Dwell magazine.
