1/26/07 Update
A down week for the Nasdaq Biotech Index, which closed Friday with a 1.82% YTD gain (vs. up 4.00% YTD at the prior Friday's close). The 31 Contest portfolios did a bit better than the NBI but also had a losing week, closing Friday with a median 2.09% YTD gain (vs. a 2.68% YTD gain at the prior Friday's close). At week's end, 20 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black and 16 of the 31 were beating the NBI.
My own portfolio remained in the No. 1 position, closing Friday with a 32.8% YTD gain. Once again my big winner was Inex Pharmaceuticals, which had another sizzling week, including a late Friday rebound after some profit-taking.
Tiley's portfolio held on to second place, finishing the week with an 11.5% YTD gain.
