To give just a few examples -- the Persians invaded Europe in an attempt to conquer the Greeks in the fifth century B.C. The Greek, Alexander the Great, attempted to conquer all of Asia, as far as India, in the fourth century B.C. Both the Persians of the east and the Greeks of the west set up colonial empires founded upon bloody military conquest. The Romans established by bloody military conquest colonies in Mesopotamia, northwestern Arabia, and Assyria in the second century A.D.

This was good learning.

Alexander the Great, yeah.

You should go to the Middle East and kill Muslims. That seems to be your calling in life. What a glorious way to go, huh? Maybe you can kill a few before they cut off your head.

Unfortunately for you and your rightwing friends, Bush's "crusade" has been such a fiasco that even the thought of a "holy war" makes most Americans want to vomit. And most of our military now disapprove of the whole Bush-Cheney neocon fantasy too.

Did you ever stop to realize that Afghanistan, Bin Laden and the Taliban aside, most of the problems in the Middle East started in 2002 when Bush turned into an imperialist radical crusader, even though he attacked the wrong country and hadn't a clue about how to plan a war?

Despite 9-11, things were a lot cooler in the Middle East before Bush decided to launch a unilateral crusade. But his crusade is not for Christians, it's for his own ego and for the future profits of Exxon, Halliburton, Kuwait and the Saudi royals. That's the real Bush crusade, but even part of it will end up being a bummer. Just wait until the Halliburton investigations.
