The think they care about viewership, but they fit Einstein's definition of insanity. None of the falling off the left end of the spectrum liberals believe that they are out of the mainstream. They think that shifting 5 degrees right from 95 degrees left will get them close enough to the center to attract viewers. They justify their lackluster performance with reports saying that the demographics are shifting viewers to cable and other delivery methods, so they are "doing relatively well."
