nothing like driving a big old car with studded snow tires back then. i could go through plowed drifts at end of driveway with the tank i was driving. those studs would tear up the street before i would skid on ice. always got where i needed to go in heavy snow and ice.

I had two Rivs back in the 70s. The first one was a turtle back style. Guy wanted to buy it and I told him he could have it for book price if he could find me another sharp car. He got me a really good deal on a new Riv. After I bought it I had to ask which one it was, bought it sight unseen. Sharp car, listed for $9,600 and I got it for $7,200. Had to drive it for a month with the speedometer unhooked then leave it at the dealers for a day.
