Crimson > Is it too much to suspect that before long, after Israel has completed the West Bank wall and its "border" terminals, the Jewish state will classify visits by Palestinian citizens to relatives as "visiting an enemy state"? And will such visits be grounds for revoking citizenship, as they could be under Erdan's bill if Palestinian citizens visit relatives in Syria or Lebanon?

That's the whole idea. The last thing Israel wants is peace with the Arabs and especially peace which leads to the formation of a true democracy in Israel. For Israel to "exist" it has to be an exclusive Jewish state or else a "democracy", as at present, where Jews outnumber non-Jews and can define their rights. I think most people don't appreciate that the most serious threat to Israel is not Iran's alleged nuclear weapon or any other military threat for that matter.

The real threat is demographic -- that under any circumstances, if they are allowed to, the Arabs will outnumber the Jews and therefore overrun them -- and that will be the end of the state of Israel. Hence, Israel has to find any reason why peace with the Arabs is impossible. Thus, the more the anti-Israel hostility the more Israel likes it. Ahmadinejad's alleged "sweep Israel into the sea" statement is exactly what they wanted (even though he didn't say those very words!).
