Crimson > In the Congress, there’s barely a whimper out of the Democrats amid these terrifying prospects. It may have made a mess of its war against Carter’s book, but as a ferryman across the Styx toward Armageddon the lobby is doing a competent job.

I reserve my opinion about the Democrats. I want to see what is actually going to happen about the surge. I am also satisfied that even if they concede to the troop escalation in Iraq they will not agree to unprovoked war with Iran. That in itself stops the Zionist momentum to more war. Furthermore, the American public is now aware of the Zionist warmongering and they don't like it.

Thus, the only way the lobby can bring about Armageddon is if Israel launches an unprovoked attack against Iran, especially using nuclear weapons, and IMO this would be the most imprudent thing for them to do. Otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, the Zionist bluff has been called. Although they have a few jokers in their pocket, they have a lousy hand and may as well throw it in.

PS. I am aware they could do another "false flag" operation, nuking an American city or whatever. But even this won't get them far. There is a limit to how many times they can dupe the people with the same trick.

U.S. plans envision broad attack on Iran: analyst

""I've seen some of the planning ... You're not talking about a surgical strike," said Wayne White, who was a top Middle East analyst for the State Department's bureau of intelligence and research until March 2005.

"You're talking about a war against Iran" that likely would destabilize the Middle East for years, White told the Middle East Policy Council, a Washington think tank.

"We're not talking about just surgical strikes against an array of targets inside Iran. We're talking about clearing a path to the targets" by taking out much of the Iranian Air Force, Kilo submarines, anti-ship missiles that could target commerce or U.S. warships in the Gulf, and maybe even Iran's ballistic missile capability, White said. "

"Tehran's leaders have convinced many experts Iran is a great nation verging on "superpower" status, but the country is "very weak ... (and) meets almost no known criteria to be considered a great nation," said Katzman of the Library of Congress' Congressional Research Service."

I don't doubt for a minute that somewhere in the Pentagon plans to engage Iran have been drawn up. And for sure, Israel too has done her planning. Yet, Iran seems totally unconcerned, apparently convinced that a military attack by the US or Israel will not happen. They no doubt believe an attack is not in the US best interest, and that the Democratic controlled House and Senate will not allow it. But I think Israel has plans of her own to draw the US into just such a battle.

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Front runner for President is apparently anxious to prove her strong commitment to security and defense, proving she has bigger balls than her rivals.

In my opinion, some of the rhetoric out of Iran (which has not been denied or clarified) is adding fuel for those who want a war. Iran's confidence may be a huge mistake. Eerily, this seems like a replay of the start of the Iraq invasion which unbelievably surprised Hussein when it finally came. I believe we are living in a very dangerous time. And I don't underestimate the stupidity of our leaders.
