Phil > Saudi Arabia to increase oil production capacity nearly 40 percent by 2009

And double its refining capacity. Incredible. They must be expecting a very big demand. And, of course, the refineries which are near the Persian Gulf make them vulnerable to a missile attack in the event of war with Iran.

> Is Saudi Arabia the only place on earth where they can find all that new oil?

Maybe that Peak Oil story which we have discussed at various times is a load of balls?

Re: Can you believe it? Is Saudi Arabia the only place on earth where they can find all that new oil? Maybe they have tapped into an everlasting supply. Adiabatic supply? The fountain of youth? The cup that never runs dry!

More likely: Saudi Arabia's anti-Iranian policy to make oil cheaper and harm Iran's domestic, oil-based "pork barrel"... Remember that Iran has about 70 million people to feed whereas Saudi Arabia has only 21 million beduins to cater to.
