Frankly, I don't think nearly half the people could have misunderstood it, but I think my explanation is a helluva lot better than your vague "it was poorly worded and loaded."

Asking people who hate Bush whether they want "Bush's plan" to succeed, and then when they say "no" equating that with not wanting success is stupid. It is a poorly worded question if the purpose of the question is to determine whether or not the populace wants success in Iraq.

For example, if you ask a Christian whether when they die they would like the Devil to take them up to heaven for their eternal afterlife, you are going to get a bunch of "No!" answers. It doesn't mean that the respondent doesn't want to go to heaven for the eternal afterlife, now does it?
