This is what happened with the Sunnis. They went into the woodwork, Dubya had the thumping-chest day on the aircraft carrier saying that he had done the job and all was well. Thereafter the incompetents descended on Iraq, all hell broke loose and somewhere between 40,000 and 900,000 people are dead. That was almost 4 years ago and now the discussion includes words like quagmire, failure, cut, run, defeat and fiasco. I suspect it can work that way yet again. I am curious as to how that brigade of Kurds are going to do in Baghdad though.
