The word from me is you can't necessarily trust things produced by the BBC. They are consciously biased.

As for why Sunni Arabs wouldn't go to Kurdistan, 1) Kurdistan is Kurdish speaking, not Arabic speaking, but more importantly, 2) Kurdistan would be unfriendly territory for Sunni Arabs who had been associated with Saddam's government, which persecuted the Kurds.

Kurds have sent a brigade of reluctant fighters to Baghdad at the request of Bush. Many (most?) don't speak Arabic, don't fly the Iraqi flag (banned in their area now I believe) and probably don't really know what the heck they're going to do once they get there.

The rumor I heard was that the entirety (most?) of the Iraqi offering for the urge to surge was going to be Kurdish. This is really the most interesting thing Bush has done in a long time.

Will the Kurds take sides and if so, with the Shiites? Will the Kurds just make an appearance and then leave? Will this get them into trouble back home?

Curious and curiouser. Thanks George! Rarely a dull moment.
