Monday January 22, 9:30 am ET

ca.us.biz.yahoo.com

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 22, 2007) - Firestone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FV - News; FWB:F5V) is pleased to announce the resumption of drilling at the Company's Torlon Hill zinc project. The winter 2006/2007 drill program has expanded and will now include up to 50 drill holes comprising 3,600 metres. To date, a total of 935 metres in 21 holes has been completed.

Results back from the first 13 of the 21 holes drilled before the holiday break include 13.7 metres of 26.6% zinc (Hole TH06-23), 8.9 metres of 21.6% zinc (Hole TH06-25) and 15.8 metres of 19.5% zinc (Hole TH06-28). The results to date from the current drill campaign (see January 11, 2007 news release) indicate that the high-grade zinc mineralization extends approximately 100 metres northwest of the previously drilled area. Most of the mineralization defined by drilling is exposed on surface or near-surface. The drill program and phasing of holes is subject to change as additional information is obtained and interpreted by the Company's geological team during the course of the program, which is expected to finish in mid to late March 2007.

"We are very pleased with the rapid advancement of the drill project," says Lori Walton, President of Firestone Ventures. "We look forward to additional in-fill drilling and expanding to the south and to the west."

The road-accessible Torlon Hill project is located 18 road kilometres northwest of the city of Huehuetenango, near the Pan-American Highway in western Guatemala. A drill hole location map, previous news releases, a longitudinal section sketch, FAQ sheet, technical report and photos are available at www.firestoneventures.com.

This news release has been reviewed and approved by John Cleary (CPC), Qualified Person for the Torlon Hill project in accordance with regulations under National Instrument 43-101.

Firestone Ventures Inc. is exhibiting at the Cambridge House Resource Investment Conference in Vancouver, January 21 and 22 (Booth 903) and will have maps, new drill core samples and information on the Torlon zinc project.
