So if grandma needs another operation and she has exceeded the Max, Then Granpa would have to pay the tax and sell the home they lived in for the past 45 years.....
Wow that sounds like a plan. The two would either land back with family or be in the street.

Like all political tinkering, the proposed limit will seem like plenty now, and later will become another political football. It can be used to pry donations from interested parties to extend just as capital gains cuts that sunset every few years have been for several decades. On the other side, minimum wages are a popular democrat cause to demagogue.

I think it is a terrible idea to cap the deductibility of insurance. It is moving in the opposite direction we need to go.
