Saddam didn't need the likes of AQ butting into 'his' country which is why the likes of AQ and other fundamentalist groups have blossomed in Iraq since Saddam was toppled.

It's why the image of fundamentalist Islamic groups like the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq are big there....thanks to Bush. It's also why Iraqi women have been going under the veil since the toppling and why they've been subjected to Taliban-like violence from men and boys.

It's a pathetic state of affairs and yet another reason why the middle class of Iraq has been fleeing.
