Hi Frank, well, I guess I can out myself and say that I work at MeshDynamics. I'll give the facts and you can determine if it was off the shelf..... Our product does use COTS hardware....Avila board by Gateworks, Ubiquiti radios (SR2, SR5, SR9, SR4). My customer on the 15mi link is the Department of Homeland security. The equipment in the link is our box, about 5' of LMR400 and a hyperlink 29dbi parabolic antenna. It is using our standard product with a standard firmware rev. so....yes is the answer to your question... BW
