GZ, remembering all the promises and pledges about fiscal integrity, balanced budgets, cutting down on pork, protection of individual rights, etc., etc. that were made by the Republicans in 2000, 2002, 2004.... Do you really believe there is a difference between the parties? I mean, the republicans NOW are all for cutting earmarks, ethics reform, open government and bi-partisanship. When they were in power it didn't seem as important to them. Isn't the pursuit of power the source of all the jingoism? I don't think the democrats or the republicans have any standing on this. You seem to feel the republicans are somehow different. The record would not support such a claim. If all it takes is cutting taxes without paying for the cuts by cutting spending, and vetoing NO spending bills, then the republican plan seems to have worked fine....promise anything and stick the bill on the next generation. Isn't that just as blatant a broken promise?
