Ted, > People who have wealth and power tend to be greedy and unlikely to share.

Now think about how that applies to a socialism. The wealth and power will be under strict government control, and those dictating the rules will end up becoming the greedy ones who are unlikely to share.

Or if you want to bring up an analogy to capitalism, there is no bigger monopoly than the government itself.

When you have a more socialist/statist solution the weakest in a society are also often the ones to suffer. Generally the week suffer more because they are weak. They won't have money, and they won't have political connections.

In theory a more statist solution might help the week because the people in charge might be generous to them, but there is no way to count on that. Governments are made up of people with their own self-interested agendas. Also to the extent that a strongly statist society is likely to have less growth and efficiency the negative economic effects are likely to hit the week and poor harder. Its one thing to have your income cut by a third (or grow one third less) if you are wealthy, its another, usually much worse, if your poor.
