Bush has nothing in common with Obama whatsoever. Also the GOP usually does not support rebels or anti-establishment candidates. Only Dems do, at least at first, but they rarely if ever nominate them. It was thought that Bush was too conservative and could not win against Gore. America will not elect a black president. American will not elect a black president until it elects a black president. It could happen in 2008 or in 2016 or in 2020 but it will happen. And you nor I nor anyone else knows when that time will be. And I need to remind you.......Obama is half white.....which begs the question, why do you call him black? How do you know that the black side of him is bigger than the white side of him. In fact, Obama is mixed race. And I think 2008 is the year of the mixed race. Not yet anyway. I think most blacks would admit that, at least privately. If they do, they are stupid. If they do they It's not racist to say. it's just the way it it. And nobody can transcend race in this country. The history of this nation has been about race. Not true.....Americans can transcend race any time they want en masse. One of the remarkable factoids to come out of the Harold Ford race in TN is that the exit polls matched up with the final results. In past white/black/brown/yellow contests, the whites would say in exit polls that they voted for the black, brown or yellow but in fact, they voted for the white. If that's true of TN, then its true of the rest of the nation. The cultgural divide in this country is mostly about race. It goes back to the Civil War. And it was about religion too. Kennedy Sr. broke that barrier. Its a dirty job but someone has to do it.Give it time. America doesn't have time. Obama is a young man, just getting started really. Baloney, Obama could be dead 5-6 years from now. He's not 20; he's 45.
