Thanks Lindy. There are some good points there - such as why there aren't more failing education institutions as there are business entities.

But overall, it looks like a straw man argument against IQism. A rearguard action in favour of the argument that "we are all the same, apart from how much tv we watch" and other "environmental" influences.

The analogies are silly - it's not just a matter of some people learning slower than others, and therefore the total quantity they can learn. It's also what people can do with the things they have learned.

Brain scans show high g people have low brain activity in solving a problem compared with low g people, whose brains thrash away burning fuel without getting a good answer. High g people just light up the right parts straight away.

It's not just learning, it's thinking. Google learns really well, but it's not yet thinking [not all that well anyway, though I'll not argue the case too strongly].
