Thanks for finding that, from Triffin's link (and it's well worth the read) I find Monckton make two telling points..

(i)"It is easy to claim a “consensus” if scientists who disagree are excluded."

and

(ii) "The Society’s long-standing funding by taxpayers does not ensure any greater purity of motive or rigour of thought than industrial funding of scientists who dare to question whether “climate change” will do any harm."

It's great to read Monckton, he knows his stuff.

I wouldn't blindly trust anything the publicity department of Exxon fed to the public though. I think Monktons stately home might need a new roof or something, the way he put a "cc" through to the Exxons CEO makes me suspicious he is scrounging for a job.. maybe even a "bung" -g-
