We haven't been attacked in the US because it appears there were no sleeper cells in the US, that was all (valid) paranoia. Also, the three or more "terrorists" Bush has arrested in the US turned out to be relatively harmless nobodies. Which leads to us asking why Bush badly needed illegall warrantless domestic surveillance?

AL Qaida was on the run when we were invading Afghanistan. But since Bush started the Iraq War it's much easier for terrorists to strike in the MIddle East and Europe, especially Iraq of course where they can actually kill US troops who Bush puts out there relatively unprotected.
