Yes, exactly, I agree, but this is not the case here... as I said earlier, there is only one independent variable and one dependent variable, i.e., Bush and success or failure respectively, that is Bush as the independent variable and success or failure as the dependent variable... it's not at all relevant that Bush was even mentioned in the wording of the question itself, the focus is on rooting for success or failure... that anyone would root for failure is presumed to be not related to whether Bush is or is not President at the time the question is posed... but, it further dramatizes the point by demonstrating how much people hate Bush that they would rather see America fail just in order to express their hatred towards Bush... how come everyone else sees this very clearly, except you?
