The Senate is a subset of "the government", and a Senate Committee is a subset of the Senate. Thus, a Senate Committee is a subset of a subset of "the government."

At any rate, I believe you've already agreed that Iraq was a state sponsor of terrorism under Saddam.

The question of whether there was any connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda is extremely politically fraught, because if so, the Left has lost its favorite thing to beat up on Bush. I couldn't convince you of this to your dying day, so why bother?
