Of course it is. Every tax takes away from someone and benefits someone else. You don't think the Bush tax cuts were redistribution? You don't think the cut in the cap gains tax was redistribution?

Whose job it it? When we've relied on the largesse of private enterprise, it did not happen.

Providing safety nets is all fine and good, but entitlements only increase the public's dependency on them

How many people do you know that like handouts?

and help exacerbate the gap between rich and poor.

How so?

Better to improve education and cultural standards, but that has to be done outside of a government context.
