You're a lawyer. You can't tell me if you have ever tried a case that perjury is not serious. Lying under oath is not serious. If Scooter made up a story about all this (yet to be proven), then it is very serious. If Bush pardoned Libby, it would be the final nail in his public opinion coffin. The public would believe it to be to protect some kind of cover-up, even if it wasn't. Maybe Scooter will convince the jury he was confused and couldn't remember it all....but we will have to wait and see.
