A six figure+ dayjob is hard to give up for better trading. I wish I could, but the money...

(changed my handle, used to be yields).

Sounds good Dave but doesn't the wife as a school principal provide a great safety net for a day trader? In the states a principal makes 90K and up a good salary.Without that cushion just wondering?????????

Hey, I'd be retired now like I was for 25 years until my mid-40s -- counting a very extended educational stint as retirement since only a few hours per week were scheduled -- but if my current employer insists on paying me six figures to do a job where I can goof off enough to post lots during my supposed working hours, I'm going to milk the golden goose...

I am in my 50s and have only put in maybe 7 years of 9-5 style full time work in my life but still am not poor, so I can't complain. I figure in a year or two my company will realize they are overpaying me and give me the boot, but until then much of my wages go into my PF.

But I hope I last till I reach my goal -- a PF large enough that I am confident of being able to both grow it and live off it. That is less than a double from where I am now so maybe another year and a half including the wage inputs.
