You can thank the progressive tax brackets for that. You give a cut to one guy, the liability is higher for everyone else. Simple. re: Raise taxes on the "rich" just to pay down the debt, and you'll only skew the share of the debt even more toward the "rich." We didn't raise the tax on the rich, we lowered it. And unless you propose raising it, then your liability is more (assuming you are not rich). Real dollars from one pocket to another. re: Of course it isn't. But it will be YOUR money once you retire, no? ;-) I've got mine... unless things break really bad. It's people your age and younger I worry about. Probably hard to understand but I do care about what happens to this country. I suppose I am an old fashioned teary eyed patriot.

Its just galls me that you all stayed quiet as Bush cut taxes while starting a war. Its nearly the equivalent of someone committing a crime that you witness and you don't go to the police and report it.
