some polls seem top show a willingness (by G.O.P.) to find a candidate that 'can win' --- and to not hold out for ideological purity if that might cause them a loss.

Polling fairly consistently returns comments like 'Hillary focuses their attention on finding a sure winner' to run against her... not someone who might allow her to slip into office.
