Hi Slag <The last USA recession that amounted to anything was back in 1980 > And that was after a quadrupling from $10 a barrel which followed a 1974 quadrupling from $2 a barrel. And, after a ditching of the gold standard at $35 an ounce with a finale at $800 an ounce. With other major changes.

Oil was a much bigger part of GDP then too.
