Longish story short version... some social groups in St. Pete donated tents to the homeless so they could camp in a city park instead of living in the elements. The city admin goes "Oh shit" we can't let THIS happen so last Friday the cops raided the "tent city" and cut up the tents with (infamous) box cutters in the hope that the homeless would leave. Don't know where this battle stands right now but it sure is a sign of the times...
