I had a distant relative (thank God for the "distance"), the husband of my cousin, who really built a career on that. He, now retired, was the champion in "Golden Parachuting".

Well educated with two masters, EE and economy, and soft spoken he moved smoothly between executive positions with very little achievements for any of them, just like that.

"Tons of potential" and other nice words of appraisal followed him.

A nice guy, very sympathetic and truly empathetic as well, he did well.

His league wasn't quite up to the 250Million level though ;)

"he should just wave a major part of that sum - rather by being remembered as - scum."

You know, you could possibly justify these kind of sums if there was some risk for the CEOs. But there isn't. Odds are, this guy will pop up as head of some other company with an even larger compensation package.

Even if he doesn't get another job....with $250 million, his financial worries are over.
