It's not necessarily inconsistent. It might be for some people, but certainly not for all. One common problem in looking at ideas you do not agree with, is a tendency to miscast them, or see them in black and white, or to misunderstand the nuances. IMO, of course

Yes, credit where credit is due. In general Reps deserve credit for tenacity in generally promoting the concept that the individual is the most responsible for his/her own good. My chief complaint against Reps is their equally tenacious Ostrich approach to many other aspects of life.
