Well I'm glad you're consistent, so few anti-choicers are.

"you can't simply declare wealth"

Sure you can. Let's try.

An American citizen, compared to say a citizen of the Sudan, has a guaranteed standard of living that includes things like a trip to the ER for life saving measures. It also includes access to other public services, infrastructure such as roads and bridges and traffic lights, public libraries, etc.

These are items of 'wealth' and are available to all. Why shouldn't other items of 'wealth' be considered basic rights of citizenship and be provided to all? It's just convention and history that prevents us from treating all the necessities of a decent life as just that, necessities.

Everyone doesn't need a BMW to drive to work but everyone should have a way to get to work. Ditto things like health care, food, clothing, lifelong education and a home of one's own.

Now if you wanted to provide the necessities of life for every baby then that would be a starting point for a debate about abortion. Otherwise it's just consigning human beings to a miserable life to satisfy the opinions of others.

:)
