That was the lead idea. It was the first sentence of the article. It wasn't I who made it an issue.

I agree the point was irrelevant, but I didn't raise it, or make any effort to pull it out of the depths of the post.

All Republicans have been trained by Frank Luntz and Karl Rove to say "Democrat party" instead of "Democratic Party". I've noticed Chris Matthews calls them on it - with most of them it's become completely internalized and it's unconscious now.

The Republicans don't want to associate the Democrat Party with Democracy, and they think the nuance does that trick for them.
