"Competition makes the system more efficient. Single payer without competition does not."

You keep saying this but you have NO PROOF that this is true. Where is your proof?

Where is the proof that evolution is true, and not creationism? Same issue here, and for the same reason. There is no single proof that can be offered. Just the overwhelming weight of evidence that competitive systems are superior to non-competitive ones. Evolution is a competitive system, that is why it works and why it exists.

You might well find a non-competitive, non-profit entity, which for a while under a given manager, and with a given motivated staff does very well. But this is not in general. Things ossify over time, fiefdoms develop, lethargy sets in. Non-competitive systems don't deal well with these problems. All systems require pain & pruning to keep health. Non-competitive, non-profit systems tend to avoid pain & pruning. There is no magic here Geode.
