I haven't done any such thing.

I have called specific arguments nonsense, but intelligent people can and do have nonsensical ideas or faulty arguments for their ideas.

In any case the article wasn't about how each side often thinks the other side is stupid, but how they think they are evil, or at least "lack compassion", or "have ulterior motives".

That's the type of "argument" you use frequently. Even if it was true it wouldn't support the case for your ideas (if the other guy is a bastard, he can still be right), and it has the additional disadvantage in the case of your statements of not being true.

Edit - Also note the blog post I linked do wasn't a slam of liberals. It was equal opportunity. People of all political persuations have these types of ideas about their opponents. More often than not, their view of their opponents motives are wrong.
