Yes Mike I agree except to add that thought the middle class is struggling with debt slavery their standard of living is much higher due to cheap techno gadgets and access to credit that makes life more fun than perhaps 30-50 years ago.. Those big screen TV's, tivo, cell phones, high speed internet are now mainstream. And I've you noticed most people seem to drive newer cars than in the past.

I am very bearish on long term prospects for the US economy and the dollar, due to bad fiscal and monetary policies, however i am bullish on inflation.

I never watched American idol for many reasons but have now started. Watching the auditions is a complete eye opener on the psyche of the next generation. If none of the above were true, I would be bearish simply by watching the mindset of the next generation...although it is hard to imagine there really are working minds in these peoples' brains.
