Kerry and others didn't vote for an invasion, they voted for war powers as a real threat against Saddam and a last resort. That is a misconception that it was a vote for war. It was more like voting to give a cop a gun in order to search a suspect's home for weapons, not to go in blasting.

At the same Bush was promising to only go to war as a last resort and then only if WMD were found and Saddam was an imminent threat. The Senate was also being fed constant phony and manipulated intel by the Cheney people through Pat Roberts head of the Intel Committee and a Bush stooge.

Yes thay made a mistake to trust Bush for a mionute, but no they did not for "for war". In fact when Kerry voted he stated clearly that if Bush didn't keep his promise and go for full diplomactic and investiions route first, he would be the first to hold his feet to the fire. And he was. Go back and read the records.
