looking at his charts it seems they arent lined up right. CRB is maybe lacking that big spike up before the dump

CRB? What is that?


Here's a very long term chart. The CRB (Commodity Research Bureau) data only goes back to 1956 so I spliced spot prices in from some NBER sources.
Also note that US housing price data is very sparse prior to 1963 and is highly interpolated... but it beats nothing.
