Have you been around a group of teens lately? "Whatever" may be a popular expletive substitute, but the "F" word is even more in abundance. I couldn't believe my ears recently. They didn't know I was in earshot. My ears were burning and I spent time in a Marine Corps barracks.

Kids nowadays use the word "whatever" as a substitute for an obscenity.

That is preferable. I'd rather hear "whatever," than something along the lines of "f****g s***"
