blim, "I would have already withdrawn any technical support for TD-SCDMA after the second delay in awarding licenses and told them I'll be back when you hand out licenses."

If I was in charge in China I would skip 3G and go for 4G, tout de suite.

"I would state publicly and in no uncertain terms in the conference call that IF NOK did not agree to a new contract or renew their existing contract for 1 more year then I would move to prohibit NOK from selling any flavor of CDMA anywhere in the world."

That is exactly what PJ and Altman said.

Rest assured that QCOM is also making that point cleat to the operators as well, as a successful injunction campaign could disrupt the 3G operators business if NOK phones start to get removed from shelves. Therefore, QCOM's message to the operators should be "beware, we don't want to dispupt your business, but we have to do what we have to do. You (i.e. the operators) should inturn, think about ordering something other than NOK 3 G phones until this get sorted out"
