This turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for my son. He was selected early after his enlistment for "Anti Submarine Warfare". He spent nearly 1.5 years in school learning to identify subs. He was then assigned to an ASW squadron and ended up flying over 2000 hours off carriers. He traveled around the world 3 or 4 times, saw incredible things, did incredible stuff. All during that time he worked on and finished two Associate Degrees. Near the end of his 20 year hitch he was stationed ashore and was able to complete his Bachelor's Degree. He also began acquiring his Microsoft Certifications, of which he now has bunches of. Before he finished his career he had a couple of lucrative civilian job offers and now works for EDS out of LA. A BIG company. I'm proud of him in spite of the problem he was early on. There's hope for all young people once they "get it".
